Carrier Claims Alliance Leaders to Speak at Florida Trucking Association’s 2026 Annual Conference

Carrier Claims Alliance (CCA) announced that Executive Director Clay Hamblen and Claims Strategy Director Jon Dittmer will speak at the Florida Trucking Association’s 2026 Annual Conference, taking place July 30 through August 1 at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Hamblen and Dittmer will participate in the breakout session, “Turning the Tide: A New Approach to Trucking Risk,” on Friday, July 31, from 9:50 to 10:35 a.m. They will be joined by Matt Penland of Cypress Truck Lines for a discussion focused on how trucking companies can take a more proactive and collaborative approach to risk and claims management.
The session will explore practical strategies for improving communication, increasing transparency, supporting potential claimants, and working toward earlier resolutions following transportation incidents. The speakers will also discuss how structured processes and direct engagement can help carriers reduce uncertainty, better manage litigation exposure, and strengthen their overall risk-management programs.
“Trucking companies need a claims strategy that begins with immediate action, clear communication, and a sincere effort to understand what is needed to move the situation toward resolution,” Hamblen said. “This session will give industry leaders a practical look at how a more proactive approach can support everyone involved while helping carriers better manage risk.”
Hamblen brings more than 15 years of trucking-industry experience spanning operations, recruiting, safety, risk management, and claims administration. As Executive Director of Carrier Claims Alliance, he works with motor carriers to develop practical strategies centered on early intervention, direct communication, and efficient claims resolution. He is also a strong advocate for safety-first carrier cultures that invest in compliance, member driver training, coaching, and preventative safety initiatives.
Dittmer works closely with carriers and claims teams to implement CCA’s direct mediation approach. His work focuses on communication, early intervention, operational efficiency, and scalable claims-resolution processes. With experience in entrepreneurship, technology development, recruiting, and operational systems, he brings a practical, solutions-oriented perspective to advancing collaborative claims strategies within the transportation industry.
“Carriers often have an opportunity to improve the direction of a claim by engaging early, communicating consistently, and creating a clear path toward resolution,” Dittmer said. “Our goal is to show how those principles can be turned into a repeatable process that claims and risk teams can put into practice.”
The Florida Trucking Association Annual Conference brings together trucking executives, fleet operators, suppliers, policymakers, and other transportation professionals for education, industry discussion, networking, and presentations from leaders in the private and public sectors.
